Mixer & Pack, in collaboration with Checkpoint Systems, has developed and implemented a new RFID encoding system in all production lines of the designer, developer, and manufacturer of perfumery for third parties. Mixer & Pack, together with Checkpoint Systems, the main alarm supplier in the market with 50 years of experience, has devised a system based on the development of an RFID encoding tunnel integrated into the production line. In this tunnel, each product reference is encoded linearly and in real-time, isolated and in a chain, accompanied by a direct-feed capping machine to prevent rejection during perfume encoding.
This innovative system is unique in the sector and has been developed for the perfumery manufacturer, Mixer & Pack S.L., as part of the company’s strategy and efforts to place its factory as one of the most advanced one in Europe for third-party perfumery manufacturing. According to Javier Palacios, Plant Director, “It is an emerging and highly innovative technology that would become us pioneers in our sector, placing ourselves as a clear benchmark for innovation.”
RFID, which stands for Radio Frequency Identification, is a product identification system that is gradually becoming the future of encoding. An increasing number of beauty brands are demanding it. Unlike barcodes, which use visual imaging to identify a label on a product, RFID uses radio waves to communicate with a microchip that can be mounted on various supports, such as an RFID tag, card, or transponder. This encoding allows brands to perform mass reading of references and contain extensive traceability information.
This project has required an investment of €244,122.61 by the designer, developer, and manufacturer of perfumery and has been subsidized with a 25% grant under the Innova-Adelante program in Castilla-La Mancha 2022, due to its strong innovative nature in the industry and the region (file number: 19/22/IN/006G).
